"Stay was nice, hotel you can see it would need renovation, although the room was clean and bed comfy, Sofa bed is not fit for purpose as you can feel the iron slabs…. Breakfast food was poor, not very good quality, coffee machine was at a breaking point and coffees were really bad. Could not drink it. Bar staff were nice. I would not use it again."

"Wish I was staying more nights at the Dakota. Will def check it out again when I am in Edinburgh. Everything about the hotel was top notch. Molton Brown toiletries, yummy cookies and tea/coffee, linen exceptional, front desk and all staff courteous and helpful. I didn't use the restaurant or bar but it looked posh. The best thing is, if you need to get to or from the airport, they have a pickup and drop off service. Make sure you walk down into Queensferry (10 minutes from the hotel). It's beautiful with lovely restaurants and shops as well as history and a view that is not to be missed. Also the lovely shaggy dog statue as you arrive in the hotel warmed my heart. Being a dog lover it was welcoming and whimsical."

"Rooms were spotless . Staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Grounds were very well maintained along with the hotel and restaurants. Highly recommend including the breakfast with your stay. Short drive into town. Alot of shops and cafes. Edinburgh castle is a must see. Short train ride into stirling."

"Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed when an issue with the broiler I believe was having issues so the amenities at the spa were limited. They did offer a free cancellation but we had our trip planned months in advance and to find a hotel stay somewhere else at the last minute would have been pricey and difficult due to a festival that was going on. Very disappointed that the spa was not able to be utilized and they did not offer another type of credit or discount on the price of the stay as they should care very much about the hospitality for their guests. It was a charming hotel but we just did not have the experience we were expecting and hoping for. Because of this, I would not recommend staying there unless you have no other choice."
