"Me and my Boyfriend cannot stop talking about how beautiful and marvelous this Hotel is. Location, location, location! Right in front of the largest Starbucks there is The Starbuck Reserve and close to everything else, we did about 20 minute walk to the Bean. I recommend The Riu Plaza to anyone in Chicago, the staff is so friendly and joyful, with amazing attitude, you will not be disappointed i promise you that!"

"I can't recommend The Sono Chicago enough. We arrived early, but they were ready for us. We were personally escorted to our room, which was extremely clean and had the most comfortable bed. Parking was easy on the street. Breakfast was good and plentiful and it was nice having access to water and snacks. We will definitely be staying at this wonderful Old Town location each time we are in town."

"The property is very clean and staff is wonderful and responsive. The property is starting to show its age some. Shower head sprayed all over the bathroom and handle fell off the bathroom sink. Staff immediately fixed the sink handle, but we had to tie a wash cloth around the back of the shower head to keep it from soaking the floor and toilet, including the toilet paper."

"The hotel is ideally located. The massive TRUMP sign is hard to overlook but it is part of Chicago. The staff was great and the room was clean and well laid out."

"we had a girls weekend and had a corner two room suite. when we checked in the room was very warm. before we left for the night we tried to turn the air down so it was cool when we got back, it would only let us turn it down to 74. when we got back the room still wasnt cool so we went to the lobby and told them our air wasnt working. They told us they were aware of the cooling problem and many rooms wouldnt cool down. they asked if we wanted a box fan and we told them yes. we went back to the room and waited for the fan and it never came so I called back down and they said they were busy delivering fans but one was on the way to our room. It was never delivered and we didnt have a good night sleep because it was so hot in our room. we were in room 326. I told the front desk lady in the morning and she said she new nothing about the cooling problem. there was 4 of us in the room and none of us slept much becuase of the temp in the room. we tried to open the window during the night but then it was so loud with fire trucks and other traffic going by we closed it. not the best stay for the price we paid"

"Hotel has the markings of being grand, but needs a renovation in a lot of areas. The biggest issue we had is that the a/c is not adjustable in each room and the building was very warm on the 75 degree day in April. We called the front desk and they did bring us a fan that helped some and we realized we could crack the windows (but didn’t want to do that overnight with the noise of the city). Other than than, it was a standard stay and a convenient location for our plans in the city. "
