"The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I had concerns about staying in a pub because of noise only this was not the case. Location great and we were back in time for a night cap. Also thought the double (used to king size at home) was going to be uncomfortable thankfully it wasn’t. We didn’t realise shampoos etc were in the landing our fault as we collected the key earlier than check in and returned later that night. We hope to return next year if we go to the Wessex Folk Festival....

"Very convenient in central Sherborne. Room was very clean and roomy, but the reception area and staircase is tired looking and needs decoration"

"The staff were lovely and helpful and the meals superb. Housekeeping was a bit lacking - our room was quite dusty on some surfaces and well handled parts of the joinery were noticeably dirty eg bathroom door frame. The hotel is right in the centre of everything and the village is incredibly charming. On the whole, we loved our stay."

"Generally very good. Kept awake by sluice/fall of water outside window! The outside of the inn looked shabby which was not inviting and didnt match the quality of the inside."

"Bed was comfortable, large room and bathroom, very clean throughout the hotel. Breakfast was varied and well cooked. Service was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Gardens extensive. No local amenities that I was aware of. Sort of place ideal if just passing through, having a reception or making use of the bar/restaurant."

"Booked a mid-week night away, our first stay here. Delighted with what we found: - good sized room (but would be good to have a socket or 2 by the bed). Clean and comfortable. Welcoming staff & owner. Good menu selection for our evening meal there. Right next to harbour and our room had sea views. Amazing breakfast - so much choice and loads. Even a residents car park. Would go back again."

"Staff was helpful and the room was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were fine. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the hotel, but there was an absolute terrible stench outside when we arrived, it could actually still be smelled in the room. It eventually died down but never went away"
