The George is ideally located in the center of town near to a bus stop. Everything about our stay was wonderful; a large en-suite room beautifully decorated with large bathroom. We ate dinner at the George day of arrival which was delicious and breakfast was fabulous. I highly recommend the George.
Lovely and pleasant place to stay for 3 nights. Nice staff, friendly and helpful. Room is great, sea view, clean and replenish everyday. Food in the George is very very good, plentiful too. Will go back when we are in Bridport again.
It was exceptional. The room was clean and well maintained, and was a very good size.
The staff were so friendly and all went the extra mile for us as their guests.
Would highly recommend.
Had a lovely stay at The George. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Stayed for two nights, food was excellent both breakfast and dinner.
Lenny the dog was an extra bonus.
Will definitely stay again
The room was very clean and well laid out. Breakfast great with a smile. Only downside was the building public areas, a bit dated.
Car parking was good.
From the moment we arrived we were given such a warm welcome. Room was beautiful and immaculately clean. Lovely bathroom, fluffy towels. Plenty tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Best breakfast ever. Loved it and will definitely return.
What a fabulous place!! The superb staff, wonderful food, great ales, good parking, beautifully maintained room and excellent location made our stay an amazing experience. From the first moment we arrived, every detail was taken care of..... including an intial taster of the fine local brewers "Palmers" ale.
The room, although compact, was really comfortable, though the bathroom was roomy and towels plentiful. The restaurant food was fabulous, with the Lambs Liver and Steak and Ale pie being very popular. The location, near to the bus stop and the harbour, was ideal for easg access to the beautiful Wsst bay, with stunning views of the Jurassic coastline cliffs.
A fabulous hotel, we'll definitely return.
Friendly, very helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Clean and tidy room and good size bathroom. Excellent breakfasts. Thankyou for another very enjoyable stay.
Great pub with rooms, excellent breakfast with large choice. Close to local fish and chip kiosks, some lovely restaurants close by as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. The beach is close and the South West coastal path for some lovely walks. Unfortunately the path going east is closed due to erosion.
Room was bigger than expected and really clean. Shower was great. Breakfasts were extremely good value for money. They were delicious, and served by smiling, helpful staff. Biscuits, coffee etc. available in the room . Our room was on the third floor with no lift, but stairs to lug suitcases up.
We had a great stay at the George. Family friendly, family run. Great view from room #4. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No matter how busy they were, they make room in the restaurant for the hotel guests. The pub can get a little loud at the end of the night, but the room was quiet enough with the windows closed. Check in / check out procedures are a little informal, and parking was tight. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.
Oh my goodness! What a wonderful place The George is to stay. It was nice a peaceful, with a nice comfy, clean room. And as for the breakfast!! Well we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day! In the 3 nights we spent there, we had dinner twice and the food and service were fabulous. The staff were all very courteous. Thank you all for making our stay so perfect.
Booked a mid-week night away, our first stay here. Delighted with what we found: - good sized room (but would be good to have a socket or 2 by the bed). Clean and comfortable. Welcoming staff & owner. Good menu selection for our evening meal there. Right next to harbour and our room had sea views. Amazing breakfast - so much choice and loads. Even a residents car park. Would go back again.
Our Christmas getaway was perfect. The team were exceptionally helpful and friendly. No ask was too much trouble.
Breakfast was epic and relaxed. Dinner was superb, fantastic simply cooked pub favourites and a couple of alternative choices for those wanting something a bit different!
The lunch lite bites ideal as was still full from breakfast but enough to keep us going after walks and catching up! Something for everyone. Hope to be back soon.
Very pleasant hotel. Staff very friendly. Room was ok, but lacking in lighting, hooks to hang clothes, towels. The room was a little cold and damp when we arrived, but they immediately supplied an additional heater which made all the difference. We were out of season, so maybe they were not fully prepared. Would still recommend though.
