very nice location inside the valley, room is dark and looks dated but clean. A short walk to the Yosemite fall. Cafe food is not that good and very pricy for the quality.

Horrible place. The rooms are dingy, dark and dirty. Carpets are old and have an awful odor. There is no AC (bad during a heatwave! The restroom was disgusting. My family and I checked in and when we opened the door to the room, it was evident that they didn’t even bother cleaning it. There was even a leftover towel with who knows what human excrement on it! Neither Expedia nor the hotel honored I’d refund due to these conditions.. I’m very disappointed in Expedia as they have gotten worse and worse on customer service. I will say the staff was very nice though. Even though they understood, there was nothing they could do about it.

I mean I realize it’s in the middle of the woods, so keep that in mind. My son woke up to a giant bug crawling on him. It bit him in the night, which meant we got to sleep 3 in our Double bed. lol. I realize there is no place else to really stay in the valley so you’re kinda stuck with it. There’s no AC and it was freaking HOT in our cabin! The restaurant and gift shop were nice to have, but be prepared because they price gauge the heck out of ya. It would be nice if they at least offered a couple bottles of water when you check in. Mediocre cleanliness is to be expected in the woods I guess and can’t comment on the pool as it was closed despite being 80 degrees.

The location is gorgeous as it’s right next to Yosemite falls and cooks meadow. Not the most luxurious accommodation but I would go there gain for the location only

The beautiful view of Yosemite Falls was just outside the door of our room! It was magnificent. The spareribs and cornbread were in the lounge were also superb!

You can't beat the location in Yosemite Valley. That's the only thing this establishment has going for it, though it is a huge plus in Yosemite. It's just very unfortunate that Aramark has done a lousy job in the upkeep of the Yosemite Valley Lodge. Our room looks the exact same as it did twenty plus years ago when we last stayed here. I have no doubt that the carpeting has not been changed in years...nor has the decor or fixtures. Once entering our room, the smell of urine wafted in the air. However, luckily, it was only strong in the carpeted vanity area next to the bathroom so it was tolerable during our two-night stay. The food at this lodge is so not good, to be perfectly blunt. We ate at the Mountain Room Lounge one evening. The food was pretty darn horrible and the prices high. The next evening we ate at the Base Camp Eatery (formerly the Food Court) and, though the hotdog I had was preferable to my meal at the Lounge, the place itself is basically equivalent to a school cafeteria. We regretted not getting sandwiches at Degnan's Kitchen in the Village earlier in the day and just keeping it in our room fridge until dinner time. It's a damn shame that the only hotels in Yosemite Valley are either for those with deep pockets who can afford The Ahwahnee or this tired establishment that's desperately in need of a complete revamp.

The location is what this place is all about. It's rustic, my room was a bit aged but it looks like they are doing upgrades. Place must be hard to keep dusted.

The rooms need updating, theres no extras. My room was gloomy and drab. It looked like something out of the 1960's. But we only slept there.Other then that the place was great.

Great place! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, you feel like you are at a camp. The base camp restaurant is great and good prices. It also has an Starbucks inside which is great. People at front desk are so friendly.

Much more expensive now than 10 years ago but still a good deal. Staff is friendly. Food choices at restaurants are a bit limited for me due to being lactose intolerant. The Basecamp Eatery gets most of their food “pre-packaged” then heated/assembled so substitutions are not allowed. Mountain Room Lounge was good and I was able to make adjustments to my food.

The Yosemite Valley Lodge was such a perfect central location to enjoy the valley. We had the view of the Yosemite Falls right at our back porch. The Yosemite shuttle is free and took us to trailheads and the welcome center amongst other opportunities as well. All the staff were amazing. They wanted to be sure that our needs were met. We took the 2-hour Valley tour where Bill was an incredible wealth of knowledge. What a great way to start our vacation.

The only good thing about this place is that it’s inside the park. Other than that it’s NOT worth the money. Check in people were nice, check out older gentleman was terrible. We had issue with our heater working in the dead of winter and received no help. Woke up to no hot water to shower or wash our faces with and again I got a rude real from a young woman at the front that “they’ll send maintenance” no apology, and no maintenance showed! The rooms are dark and dated. Paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. You can also hear your neighbors. When we addressed the issues of the broken heater and no hot water at checkout, the older checkout man just shrugged and said “Thanks for the feedback.” No apology. Wow. Never staying here again.

Exceptional views and close proximity to trails, food, and parking! My only complaint is the cleanliness and functionality of the room. There were numerous cobwebs throughout the room, the window above the toilet was stuck open and the doors locks/knobs were very loose/missing screws. Overall our experience was great and the views certainly made up for the imperfections.
