"The whole place looked dented. The room was basic with very tired old furniture. We had no toiletries whatsoever in the bathroom. Obviously the staff don’t check the notices near reception. Still a poster advertising Mothers Day 2025 hung up. In the breakfast area some tables had tablecloths and others didnt"

"Arrived on a Sunday evening when no staff are present; however, clear instructions to get keys and access. Clean and well presented property in a nice quiet setting."

"This hotel was in a good central location, spotless, smart and functional. The door code provided worked well. I had an accessible room due to mobility issues which had an excellent shower room. the grab and go breakfast had a good variety of food. Unfortunately this area only had a bar stool arrangement so I physically couldn't sit as the table and seats were too high for anyone with a disability. no staff were available for any help. only a phone for emergency."

"Centrally located, nice hotel. Room was clean & spacious. From outside there was no ramp so we had to lift our luggage up the stairs. Loved how we could walk everywhere, would definitely stay again"

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"Great location and at a reasonable price, just a short walk from the city centre with the added bonus of free parking. Spacious room and bathroom but if you did want to watch tv, this was miniscule. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice. The staff here were so friendly and helpful especially on reception. Would certainly return."

"The room was spacious with a nice layout, the location was convenient to the historic city center and the staff were helpful. The direct Uber call link was a big help in getting to the train station."

"Such a lovely guest house, the interiors were absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, featuring classic period furniture. The bed was very cosy. The bathroom was perfect. The shower was spacious with excellent water pressure. Tasty cooked breakfast. Location was great, about a 20 min walk in to York City Centre. Highly recommend."

"Only one criticism I have is about the parking .There are only 2 parking spaces at the B&B this only came to my attention when I had booked and received the welcome email/text .i was lucky while I was staying I managed to get one for the 3 days .Other than its a great place to stay very clean and well maintained ."

"Very helpful manager, she kindly upgraded us and made a wonderful effort for our 10 year anniversary. Clean and comfortable room, set in an idyllic location. All in all a great stay. Nothing could be done about the parking situ, I advise to get there early for a space. We would happily return."
