"A lovely friendly welcome from Michael at reception. All the staff were great. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The fan was a definite bonus in the hot weather although the room stayed fairly shaded too. There was some traffic noise but it didn't disrupt my sleep at all (room 16). "The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, everything you need for a restful stay. The staff are really helpful and friendly from check in to check out. The food is all cooked to order with a good choice on the menu. Would definitely return when in the area."

"Staff were lovely and although our room wasn’t ready, we were shown to a room available to change in for our visit to York races. Our room wasn’t ready tired looking. The bins hadn’t been emptied from previous clients and the bedside lamps were full of cobwebs. I reported it to staff who thanked me for doing so. There is no lunch or evening meal provision anymore.
