"Lovely beachside hotel. Clean, attractive rooms. Wonderful staff. Hotel restaurant food was just ok. Restaurant staff were very friendly. Wished for a microwave in the room. The mildew smell in the halls and room for me personally was very unpleasant (overcame this with cranking the AC which worked well). This place was VERY clean - I think it’s challenging to fight the extremely humid environment. Overall, lovely stay!"

"My family and I had a wonderful time visiting Kapa’a and were very impressed with the accommodations at The Waipouli Outrigger as well as the grounds. It is a beautiful resort that has beautiful beaches feet from the resort. Our condo was clean and equipped with everything needed for our stay. The pool area was beautiful and the towel service was hassle free. Also the in room washer and dryer were life savers!"

"Property was clean and accommodations perfect for what we needed. The check in process was a little different. The check in location was a little off property making it a little difficult to find. The process for fast and easy. We would definitely stay there again."
Kauai Coast at the Beachboy

"All in all this is a great place to stay! Very central to both the north and south shore, tons of good restaurants nearby, nice pool, pool bar, and beautiful grounds. The condos themselves are a little old and run down, and the living room furniture was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The bed was relatively comfortable which helped. The timeshare representative at check in was pushy and extremely rude when I told her we weren’t interested. All in all the good out weighed the bad!"

Fern Grotto Inn

"Fern Grotto Inn (Coco D) was beautiful & comfortably furnished. Nice floral surprises everywhere with some yummy snacks, water & beer in the frig. Plenty of kitchen wares. There was Illy Coffee too. Our queen bed was very comfortable, although a bit high (I'm 5'6"). We were on the second floor (no elevator), which made for some nice views of the river from the kitchen/dining area. The grounds are absolutely stunning with beautiful plants & flowers everywhere. The Inn is located between Kapa'a & Lihue. Lots of things to do, restaurants & shopping nearby. You can go kayaking from the property to Fern Grotto, visit Smith's Garden & Luau (pricey, but includes a great meal & show). Need to book in advance. It's a very short drive from the Inn. Definitely do the doors off 1 hour helicopter tour of Kauai with Ali'i (expensive, but SO worth it!) from Lihue. Also, go to Allerton Garden & Estate (south) & Kilauea NWR (north). Too many things to do & so little time! We were there 4 nights. There is some road noise, even with the windows closed & there are roosters that like to crow at various times of the day or night, but there is Alexa that you can play music or white noise to offset any sounds. Paul was out of state, but we got to meet Rick. Great guy! Thanks Rick! Definitely a must stay!"
