"The room was not clean when we checked in. There was unknown fluid on the table. Sink in the restroom was not cleaned either. There has been no A/C for two days. And there was no resolution from the staff. We have to sleep when the room was >80F. Overall, the experience was terrible"

"Good value budget hotel right on the bay in Hilo. The property is quite old, showing wear but room was clean, comfortable with fresh towels, shampoo etc, all the basics you need. It's classic old school ceiling fan and air vents rather than AC. There is occassion airport noise. Hilos airport is close to town so you can hear it as many locations, but airport isnt that busy. "I stayed in one of the small cabins and it was fine for what I wanted. It had a comfortable bed, it had USB charging station, a mirror, a bar to hang your cloathes on and some side tables and benches. The water in the shower was hot. It really has a great atmosphere there, the folks that work there a nice and helpful. This is on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii and that's the reason I chose it. "This was amazing! Great staff, great location AND there's even a swimming hole (5 min walk, if that) with a waterfall! I've never stayed in a shared house before, but this one has spoiled me! It's close enough to be able to drive to all the good tourist spots. Oh, and hopefully you're there for the "big" farmers market on Saturdays.
