I chose the book now & pay later option but Xambé charged my card anyway. Even with proof, they denied it. Expedia was unable to resolve it and advised me to contact my bank. They are investigating. Prior to this & upon the advisement of an Expedia representative, I canceled the 1st booking in due time and rebooked as a bundle deal expecting a refund.
As for the apartment, it was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The rooftop pool is gorgeous! However, I had an issue with bugs in my ground floor bedroom. I didn’t panic when I saw the first bug as the security guard was kind enough to come to the rescue. But the second night there was one on my bed that got away so I slept in the other bedroom with my daughter and her friend the remainder of our stay! The manager’s solution was to fumigate the next morning while we were out of the apartment. Just as I feared, that brought more out of “hiding” which left dead bugs on the floor that were not removed! I understand that the environment is a conducive habitat for bugs, however extra efforts should be taken to prevent or minimize the problem PRIOR to each guest’s arrival especially in the ground floor apartments.
The receptionists are great! They reached out immediately through Expedia then WhatsApp to welcome me and offer assistance in any way to make our trip smooth and memorable.They were VERY responsive and accommodating via WhatsApp but in person communication was difficult. An electronic translator would be helpful.
