"When we checked in the bed had hair in it and the rug was dirty. The hallways smelled damp. There was no air circulation so when we took a shower it got really humid. Also, a silverfish fell on me when I was in the bathroom, further confirming the humidity and air circulation issue. I would be concerned about mould in this hotel, since it seems like there is no circulation and high humidity. The neighbourhood is cute, but difficult to get in and out of unless you’re using Uber. There isn’t too much around but it’s a nice view of the harbour and a handful of cafes nearby. If you’re looking to explore Amsterdam proper I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The rooms are very bare bones and seemed rush (peeling wallpaper, etc.) and some parts seem unfinished. There are basically no amenities and we didn’t have enough towels in our unit. I’m surprised at the very least that this hotel does not have a fitness centre. Getting into the hotel through the double doors is annoying, since you have to wait for one door to close before the next opens and it takes forever. The staff was the redeeming quality of this place— super friendly, they got us an early check in and were kind. Overall this was a subpar experience. With some actual work on the ventilation and a couple of amenities improvements for guest experience, this could be a fantastic hotel."

"We booked this hotel for the spa facilities and were very disappointed. We weren’t told at any point that the pool was out of order, and nothing was mentioned at check-in. We were later told it would open the next day, but it didn’t. The jacuzzi and steam room were also out of order all weekend. Staff repeatedly said the facilities would open later, but they never did. We were told we could use another hotel’s pool 10 minutes away, with no real apology or clear information. Communication was poor throughout. The room was large and the beds were comfortable, but the hotel is overpriced for what it offers, particularly when the spa facilities were out of order all weekend. We wouldn’t stay again. When we returned to collect bags after leaving them in their storage for the day, they couldn't find our bags and told us they had multiple locations they stored them in within the hotel and needed to hunt for them. Overall, a disappointing stay. Avoid this hotel. "
