"Parking and location are the best thing. The place is so run down. Before I book, the staff told me some of the room have no steps. He told me to put a request for a room with no step but actually all rooms have some step. After couple of days of staying, they put in a ram. They don’t even really check if it is safe to use. When stepped on, the right side came up. Luckily nothing bed happened. They had someone fixed pretty quickly. For what it cost, it is not worth it. Will never stay...

"It’s a dorm. The room is worn but it was clean. Hot breakfast was included which was great. The location was great since we wanted to be on campus to pick our son up from school. "

"For a nice clean room with a beautiful walk through Gastown on way to Canada Place ... You can't beat Block House. Bare bones room, no clock, no phone but that's the charm. The exposed materials (brick, wood, steel, pipes) are also super charming and a big warm bed. Noise was minimal but I used ear plugs just in case. I walked through the neighbourhood several times at various hours, I never felt unsafe."

" I believe it says breakfast is included, but later they mentioned no breakfast, so the breakfast policy is not very clear. Also, the pool water needs a little more cleaning. Other than that, everything else was perfect 👌"

"The staff were very kind and helpful, the courtyard was cool, lots of people sitting outside, it has a fountain, lights and lots of plants. Pretty central, lots of stores, restaurants near by. Would stay again!"

"We loved this hotel. It’s in a great location. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small, but very nicely decorated. Nice bed linens. They have top personal care items in the bathroom. And a Nepresso machine. The breakfast was delicious and fast. We loved the charm of this old school hotel - doorman, hotel bill under your door in the morning, small elevator. We will definitely stay again."
