"I was asked for ID at check in, I have never been asked for this ever. I have stopped in over 500 hotels in my time working away. It is not something I carry in the UK. The car park was full at check in, it was only 4PM. Was told they were all guests but at 10PM it was nearly empty. I only stop in hotels with parking so was very disappointed to find it full. "

"Reception was dark and deserted. No-one at the desk when I arrived to check in (or at any other time). Had to call a mobile number to get someone. I arrived at 13:10 and was told they wouldn’t check me in until 2pm. I mentioned I wouldn’t be able to return again until later that night, maybe 11 or later and they said that was fine. However by 6:30pm I’d had 2 missed calls from them to ask when I was coming back to check in! So I made a special trip back - this was the only time there was someone at reception). Other things - there was no toilet paper in any of the toilets at reception, there was only an end of a roll in my room with no spare roll. There was no hand soap or body wash or any kind supplied (there were 2 mini shampoos and a mini body lotion). There was no hot water whatsoever for the shower, even after leaving running for 5 minutes. The radiator in the room was on all night with no way of switching off (it was already at its lowest setting) and so I woke may times in the night with a dry throat. I could open the window a tiny bit but didn’t see how it could stay open - it just dropped straight back down when you let go. Still no-one at reception next morning so couldn’t get help with any of the things mentioned. Would not stay again. "
