"There was a warm welcome from the proprietor, who checked us in and showed us to our room. The tea/coffee was special with sachets of both tea and coffee from local suppliers. The Hotel has a coffee shop and all cakes, scones and bread are prepared on site. Delicious. There is an honesty bar for alcohol and other beverages on the landing. "Traditional pub building in the middle of a village. The bar was full of local people having a good time but no noise made it through to the bedroom due to very thick walls. Nice room, clean, huge bed plenty of indirect lighting and enough power points. New en suite bathroom. Very friendly but unobtrusive staff. Excellent full English breakfast."

"The Royal Oak Inn is situated in a lovely area. It was easy for us to park. On arrival which was somewhat late, there was no one to look after us. I got the attention of someone in the kitchen who alerted the manager. We were given our room key and on arrival in the room I noticed that there was quite a bit of hair in the sink and some in the bathtub as well. I mentioned it to the manager and when we returned to our room after dinner, which was delicious, the hair in the sink was gone. The...

"Everything was great. Maybe a usb charging point might have been good in the room. The only annoying thing was the shower gel dispenser in the bath. It didnt work. Luckily i had my own to hand."

Hotel it is in an excellent spot close to the beach and a wonderful hike in the hills and the classical garden nearby."
