"The check-in process was a bit ludicrous lacking front desk (reception) staff that had to be coordinated for every move, even to pick up and drop off our car. The shower in our room not only barely had water coming out but there was "limited" hot water to shower with during the winter months (December), that for a medium hair length woman, not enough hot water to wash the hair. Gabriella, the housekeeping lady was the one thing we enjoyed about our stay. "

"Junior suite that wecwere in had a stupid shower unit placed in the middle, spilling water everywhere. Breakfast was fresh but outdoor service pitifully slow. Had to make a take-away arrangement with the helpful concierge to tie in with a taxi pick-up."

"We had the beautiful patio room with an amazing view of Taormina and the sea. Room was spacious and clean. Close to shops and sights. A little short on basic amenities, like a simple box of tissues. And while somewhat charming, access to hotel is in the middle of a flight of an ancient stone staircase, which was challenging with luggage in the rain, No real reception, you get a code to the main door. "The view from our hotel balcony was worth the price of the room. Very convenient to walk up to the Palace/fortress of Taormina, down to the main shopping street and across to the Roman amphitheater. Breakfast outstanding. "

"You stay there because of the view and central location. Huge price tab of a Ritz or Four Seasons without the customer service.... Staff is not terribly helpful at times. We asked for a "Do Not Disturb" sign for bedroom several times. Crickets. We asked to change a large Euro bill. Crickets. We asked for a late checkout for one of our several rooms. Nope. But the view is stunning!"

"The staff is very nice. Our room smelled funny. It was pretty hot in the room one of the days. We thought maybe it was because it was hot. We tried to turn the air conditioning on, but they have the air-conditioning shut off. The only option was heat. They told us to open the window. We were right by the street so that really wasn’t great but it was the only option. We realized the problem is actually that the bathroom smelled funky. If we kept the bathroom door closed all the time the room...
