"Breakfast literally consist of just little packages of things like honey buns , little packages four count white donts , or other little prepackaged things , not a real breakfast at all... The room reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it was nonsmoking supposedly , and the a c did not work well at all ... when we asked for extea.towels hclaied, that they do not give extra towels...and we where swimming like started at 8:58 pm.the pool.says.online, pool.closes.at.10pm... and posted.on gateof.pool 10.and 2 signs.in the pool.area.plus upfront and in their own website, the guy comes out tries to tell me.pool.closes at 9 i was like showing him it literlly says.all over it is open till 10 he says ok but just this time im like excuse.me then he needs to change it on everything, ice machine upnstairs didnt work also online i reserved a 2 bed room, and he 1st gave me.a 1 bed then i had to ask for one with 2 bed and be charged an extra 10 in cash and when i tried showing him my online reservations he jsut puts his hand up and is like u picked one bed but its no prob we will get u 2 i jsut need 10 dolllars like ugh id never suggest to stay there"

"If there was a NEGATIVE 5 star option this property would be the winner ... bed bugs , dirty sheets ,dirty towels ... disgusting hotel should not have the Wyndham name associated with it "

"Nothing really wrong with the hotel itself, but its located in the hood. The projects are right across the street."

"We were disappointed in the front desk staff and the valet staff. After our first night (at 9:00 am) we asked for fresh towels (spilled coffee) and another roll of toilet paper (only provided 1 and we were already out). They said it would be brought to us shortly. We left and came back about 2:00 pm. No towels...no toilet paper. Called front desk and they brought it. Later that day we were trying to rest in our room but they started sawing with a very loud saw next door to us. I know sometimes maintenance must be done but I guess it was just poor timing. When we were checking out I requested my car. Even got a message back saying the staff was hurrying to get it. We went outside and sate on the bench and waited. Valet staff never came over to see if we need assistance...they did not say anything to us at all. Finally after 20 minutes my husband walked over and asked about our car...they stated they did not know we needed it even thought we got the automated message that they were already getting it. Mind you it was not busy it was 7:00 am. They brought the car around and we left. We decided then that was our last stay at the Menger."

"Great room - very large and clean. Kitchen had a dishes and tools we could use. Comfortable beds. Great location, 5min walk to Alamo area. Good service by front desk. Onsite parking was fine at $35/daily with in and out privelages, just make sure you don't drive a large pickup bc it is very tight especially driving up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Breakfast was fine. Same scrambled eggs, sausage hashbrowns, cereal, yogurt coffee, oatmeal options everyday. Only issue is the bathtub and sink were slow to drain, and we were not able to connect to the front desk from our in-room telephone. However pros more than outweighed the cons, and we would prob stay here again for future travel back to San Antonio."

"The Studio Suites is a "no-frills" establishment, Captain. If you are looking for luxury or high-end amenities, you are in the wrong sector. The property is definitely understated, but for my specific requirements to sleep, shower, and be left alone, it was perfect. At $80 for a two-night stay, the value is undeniable. It functions exactly as intended without any unnecessary fluff. It simply works for what you need it to do. Pro Tip: The Mexican joint right next door is excellent. It is a significant tactical advantage for a quick and quality meal."

"By far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Pros: The staff were nice and we didn’t see any roaches. Cons: Everything else. Our sheets had 3 inch crusty yellow smear on them when we checked in. The curtains fell off the wall when we opened them - the hotel didn’t send maintenance until 2 days later. Two of the legs on the desk were broken, so the desk lurched when used. The paint throughout the property was moldy and peeling. The hallways smelled bad. There was a random tv lying in the hall all 3 days of our stay. The telephone didn’t work. No one ever answered the front desk phone so every time something new went wrong, we had to walk to the front desk, in a separate building. The property doesn’t look at all like the photos. Highly recommend avoiding…sleeping in your car sounds like a better experience. "

"We went as a group and reserved 3 King rooms, one of which was needing a pet friendly place. The room and area were clean. However, I didn't appreciate that we reserved 3 rooms and arrived at 3 pm (check in time) and were told they had to change our rooms from a Single King to doubles and the price would remain the same. I notified them that we did need at least 1 room on the 1st floor to assist our handicap friend. I would prefer to have had what I reserved. Also, there was no shampoo or enough towels in our room and my husband had to go down and request them. Our room should have been ready with adequate necessities in the room. "
