Hotels near Old Town San Diego State Park

"The WiFi was great and for the two nights we were there, it was perfect. The front desk guy was nice and professional, even had a good sense of humor as we checked in around 11pm on Tuesday. We checked out at three am on Thursday and it was the same guy with the same warm demeanor. Wasn’t a 5 star hotel, but met our needs. The room was clean and housekeeping even came through while we were gone Wednesday and cleaned up and remade our beds. Only things missing were a microwave and coffee maker. No free breakfast but the restaurant on site was convenient, inexpensive and good. Never tried the bar or the pool…."

"Clean room, staff was wonderful, breakfast was decent and wasn’t able to use the pool as it was raining that day. The only issue was with the building itself. Our room was next to a room that was taped off as well as the floor which made our stay a little un easy due to not knowing the situation. Other than that and having to pay for parking I would recommend. "

"We had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this hotel. After staying overnight, we discovered visible mold growing along the baseboards and wall near the air conditioning unit. This was not a minor issue—it appeared to be long-standing and clearly had not been properly addressed. The condition of the room was unacceptable and raised serious health concerns. What made this even more troubling is that we were traveling with our 3-year-old and 5-month-old baby, which made the situation especially unsafe. Had we known about this beforehand, we would not have stayed in the room. We brought this to the hotel’s attention and, while they acknowledged the concern, they did not provide a meaningful resolution. I would strongly recommend that future guests carefully inspect their rooms, particularly around moisture-prone areas like AC units and baseboards. This experience fell well below expectations, especially when it comes to basic cleanliness and safety."

"The hotel itself was fine. If you picked it up and put it somewhere else it was have been great. The room size was large and the breakfast was nice. The neighborhood on the other hand was not great. The Nextdoor neighbor is a strip club. We got gas around the corner and the amount of unhoused people was astounding. We live in San Francisco so we are not country bumpkins. We were traveling with 3 children and it wasn’t fun having to explain what an all nude review was to them.I definitely wish I had done some more research before booking. "

"Will come again. 100% enjoyed our stay. Pro: The hotel is SO clean. The housekeeping take good care of the property. We even saw them mopping the sidewalk. Breakfast was great. We loved the waffle makers. The dining area was a bit small but we did what we came to do & everyone was respectful trying to walk around eachother. Breakfast is from 6am-10am. Our room was very clean. There was plenty of towels & we appreciated the microwave & the mini fridge. Beds were also very clean, very comfortable. The shower was amazing. The water gets SO hot please be careful & the pressure is so strong. They have a gym located behind the check in lobby its very clean. The a/c unit was very powerful kept us very cool. We were able to get a Amazon package. They also have a laundry room area. There's an iron & ironing board. Parking was free. Cons: The biggest con was the TV. There were only a certain amount of channels and you have to watch whatever the channel is playing. They have good TVs. I recommend that instead of using whatever pay per view stuff they use they should just equip every room with a roku player and allow guest to log into their streaming services and leave a sign that says please log out when you leave or have the housekeepers log everyone out when they check out. I deserve a discount when i come back. I took loads of photos that I will add to this review. When i say we were so comfortable we were. I wish i could've hugged all the staff. It was great."

"They will charged me a late check out fee after 30 minutes. Front desk was super rude about it. Overall, not a good experience. Very loud room because of all the street noise. They dont even offer free wifi. Avoid this place"
