"The hotel, staff and location to the train station or town was good. I would stay there again. The decor was a bit dated i.e. you could see coffee stains on the wall or markings on the carpet but overall it was clean in the room."

"The Hopping Hare is a gem! We were attending a festival and had to arrive early to check in. We couldn’t have our room but our luggage was taken care of and waiting for us in our room for when we arrived well after midnight. From check in to check out, our 4 day experience was faultless and consistent. All the staff we met during our stay were friendly and helpful, however a special mention must go to Sarah. She was there from the start by checking us in, at breakfast and the end by checking us out. She never seemed to leave!! Her attention, friendliness and professionalism was wonderful, a perfect host. Thank you ☺️"

"We stayed in a small double room. The room was a good size considering it was described as small. Well ventilated with windows opening fully and not restricted as in some places we've stayed. Staff were all brilliant. Very friendly and always had a smile. Food was superb - all served fresh and piping hot - absolutely delicious too. We enjoyed every part of our stay and highly recommend - we'll definitely be back."

"Staff were great! Room was a terrific size and the bathroom was stellar. Parking was free. There was no breakfast, but the pub downstairs had games and entertainment. It was summer and quite hot so the windows had to be open resulting in a few spiders making their way in, but that would be expected honestly. I would absolutely stay here again!"

"From entrance to exit this has been one of my favourite places I have stayed in. Booked on short notice as I was travelling and started getting a bit tired driving so pulled over and looked for something local to where I was. Glad I did as it’s now on my list if I’m working in the midlands. Check in was great by the owner and the lady working, quick and easy and shown to my room. The room was great, quirky and large and clean and was pleasantly surprised! Absolute value for money. Internet was decent too so could do some work to take the pressure off the next day. Went down for dinner and the menu and wine list fits the bill for the character of the place. It had plenty of choices and once again the food and the service was impeccable. Got a good nights sleep, even though it was hot they had a fan in the room that helped me get a good rest and although I didn’t stay for breakfast as I had to get on the road I am sure by the high standards set across the rest of the business that it would have been fantastic too. Longest review I have written to date but felt The Red Lion deserved it. Good work and I will see you again for sure"
