"Staff were fantastic. We had to get moved out of our first room due to bad sewer smell from bathroom. The second room was dated, dilapidated. Shower door handle loose, rain shower head broken and sprayed everywhere. Cracked tiles on the step to the bathroom. Stain on carpet under desk, bed was so uncomfortable, it was like a mattress that most would throw out. Not sure why more money isn’t being spent on the “servant quarters” bedrooms as this place had a great reputation. Maybe some of the...

"the hotel was lovely from the moment we arrived. Smelt beautiful. the bar area is cute. Very good area, lots of bars, shops and food places near by. the room was lovely, would stay again 100%"

"The rooms were very large, the ensuite was clean and toiletries were provided. The only suggestion would be for the floorboards in the room above Sopwell (ground floor) to be screwed down as these were squeaky when the occupant in the room above was moving around which woke us up as the squeaks were quite loud. The free parking was great and the system was easy to use, the instructions sent prior to arrival were clear for the check-in and checkout process. "

"The property is small and cozy as described, facilities are tidy and clean. We couldn’t receive the check-in instructions until we call at check-in time, the problem is solved quickly. A reminder that the toilet door is a reused old front door, that means when you lock it, you should lift the handle up first and then turn the button. "Communication was non-existent - despite sending plenty of messages through the Expedia app, in the end I only got to speak with the owner when I was stood right outside the property. The beds are next level uncomfortable - very springy and one of them had a proper dip in its middle. Not recommended."

"This room is too small to be a family room, there was no place to walk or a chair to sit. The sofa bed for 2 boys to sleep is extremely small and squeaking all night, they had to sleep on 1 side for 2 days so they couldn't sleep. The room we had didn't have an extraction fan in the toilet so you can imagine the smell in the room. They should not give this room as an option for 4."

"My satnav struggled to find hotel. Parking on-site wasn't great. We arrive late (midnight), check-in was good! We were allocated Room 1. This is right next to Reception. We could hear tv/radio/talking so I quickly asked if we could be moved. Staff were great & switched us to Room 8. Beds are very soft - so ok if you like that. They are more like a "U" shape ehen you get in them. The emergency green lighting is very bright - didn't bother us but might be an issue to others. "
