Hotels near Smithsonian Gardens Greenhouse

"I booked my room 2 weeks in advance. All paid for. When I got there past midnight they said they were “sold out” on all rooms and didn’t have any rooms available because I “missed my check-in”. They placed me at a nearby hotel that was still under construction, and didn’t even have water available or a working vending machine. I was supposed to have gotten a refund and it’s almost a month later - I have not received it. "

"The facility was modern, clean and safe with scanning in to and out of the building. However I had the worst check in experience. My fiancé and I arrived around 1:30am attempting to check in. We were informed that the reservation was “no showed”. The front desk young lady stated that the company website says that you have to call to avoid your reservation from being cancelled. After this, she began to say that the hotel was “over sold” and that here were no rooms for the evening. I did inquire if our room was sold out for the night and never got a direct answer. She then kept repeating that there was nothing that she could do as we purchased from a 3rd party site. She also said that she could not reinstate the reservation unless I paid again for another room! At that point, we checked the website and saw that it was “preferred” that you call but not mandatory for the stay or to keep the reversion in tact. Expedia states that the hotel has 24/7 front desk and check in after 4pm without a cut off time. After much discussion she was able to “jot it down and work it out”. This felt weird as I thought the room was not available? In any case, we stayed one night and left very frustrated in the end. Either more information needs to be shared from the hotel or at least the front desk reach out before a last minute cancellation is made. "

"Staff was friendly, shower drain didn’t work so had to shower in s pool of water. Decent hotel 7/10"

"We arrived on friday around midnight... The African American girl working at the reception was nit friendly at all. & seemed irritated to work there Tell her to stay home if she can't be nice & helpful. Other than this , everything was good The african American guy at check out was very nice The housekeepers & the restaurant ladies very nice Hotel was, Clean & organized "

"Breakfast was good. Sad that the pool wasn’t working when we were there. Elevators were quick getting to the floor. Halls were quiet though there were a ton of people there. Unfortunately all of the doors but the main door were broken which led to having to park unsafely closest to the front door."

"Hotel was disgusting checked out early had roaches and was clean which triggered my 3 year old asthma."
