I feel compelled to share our experience because no traveler should ever go through what we did at the San Paolo Palace Hotel in Palermo. What you see online is not what you get in reality — not even close.
From the moment we arrived, the shock was immediate. The hotel is located in a very low‑income, industrial zone, surrounded by dark, dirty streets with almost no lighting. At night, the area becomes genuinely unsafe....

The room was clean and large.. the owner of the hotel was very hands on.. he parked our car and retrieved it for us.. served us breakfast every morning. The staff was great!! The desk girls were great and very knowledgeable..

"This was an amazing location and beautifully curated rooms. We felt like locals!
The breakfasts were very good with yummy desert options.
Unfortunately, due to no fault of the hotel, there was construction in between our rooms and the lobby which made it a little bit of a nuisance with bags to get in and out. Otherwise 5 stars all around.
This construction is temporary, and I would highly recommend this hotel."

"Von außen wirkt das Hotel sehr unscheinbar. Sobald man jedoch durch die alte Eisentür geht wird man sprachlos.
Man wird mit einer Herzlichkeit begrüßt, die Koffer werden bereits ins Zimmer gebracht während man bei einem Kalt oder Heißgetränk den Check In macht.
Die Zimmer sind sauber und haben eine perfekte Größe. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick und Zugang zum Innenhof und somit einen sehr kurzen Weg zum Pool, der auch fantastisch war. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Man kann diese Unterkunft...

"We booked a suite with wraparound balcony. Suite was lovely, cannot fault it at all. Views over Palermo were amazing and when sleeping the windows blocked out the noise of the bustling city.
Maids came when needed and did a fantastic job. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the continental breakfast selection.
Location was perfect, not far from the historical centre and massimo teatro but far enough away for anyone wanting a slightly quieter base to explore.
