"Such a relaxing stay! Huge room with comfortable beds and plentiful tea and coffee facilities - especially nice local touch using Herdy mugs. Spa and pool were very nice, and lovely outdoor spaces to relax right on the lake. Would have loved more time to spend a lazy afternoon in the cosy surroundings getting lost in a book. Good cooked breakfast, my husband especially enjoyed the smoked haddock and poached eggs. Would love to come back and stay longer next time!"

"Front Reception was excellent! From that point on everything went down hill. A very run down room with a dirty window looking over the car park. Threadbare carpet and frayed edges of the mattress hanging down. Dated decor and a less than pristine bathroom with a disgusting non slip mat! Really! Loud music played in the breakfast room. "This was a nice place to stay for a few nights, and quiet apart from the neighbour’s yappy dog and in a great central location for Windermere. Helpful staff, breakfast was good - perhaps could do with slightly bigger portion sizes though. The shower was tiny. Only comfortable if you are child-sized. This was my only bugbear as I am a 6ft fat bloke. Car parking plentiful. But be aware if you have an SUV you might struggle to get round the back because of the poor parking of others making it...
