"What an amazing spot! Only a few minutes drive from downtown Atenas, but you feel like you're miles and miles away, up in the hills in a secluded spot with an amazing view. The hosts at the hotel were exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and they had loads of great dining recommendations to offer. We'll definitely stay here if we find ourselves back in the area. "

"Eden Atenas is a wonderful place to stay. The included breakfast every morning is nothing short of incredible!!! The staff was so nice all the time and were always available to answer any questions we had about the area. Our hot water went out on day 2 but the host graciously moved us to a cabana with instant hot water. If you get the chance, upgrade to a cabana…100% worth it"

"The property grounds are very well landscaped. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area needs to be better maintained as the decking needs to be replaced before it collapses when someone walks on it. The rooms need updating. Once the new owners take possession, maybe hey will make the necessary improvements. We would love to return once upgrades have been completed. "

"Edward y Familia is absolutely fabulous. I'm pretty sure it is the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. The room is adorable, with everything you could need, and the decor and design is very tasteful. Edward picked me up at the airport personally and is a very gracious host. This was exactly what I needed after a hard day of traveling. I felt very safe and taken care of as a solo female traveler. "We stayed here on our last night in Costa Rica so we could be close to the airport. The family that runs this is so lovely. It's a quiet spot with a beautiful property. It was gorgeous waking up to one final view of the landscape through the giant single-pane window in the room. They recommended a great seafood spot in town for dinner and drove us to the airport in the morning. "

"Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing "

"We stayed here for 1 night before our early morning flight. Location was a few minutes away. Didn't spend much time in the room. We did appreciate the walkability to local restaurants. Felt like a real San Jose neighborhood, not a chain hotel. Service was attentive and checked in regularly to make sure all was good. Highly recommended."

"The hotel was perfect for our first and last night of our trip in Costa Rica. It is near the airport, clean, we felt safe and we took the breakfast which was good and convenient. The share kitchen and shuttle for the airport are also a plus. We recommend!"
