"On arrival my husband was given a door key card not the actual key that was actually needed. He was stuck outside the room on the second floor because had had all the luggage and didn't want to lug it back downstairs. Room was very hot with no view but fortunately had a fan. Bed was comfortable and TV reception was very poor. Best I can do was our stay was 2 star.🙂‍↕️"

"Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble for him. Lovely quiet room at the rear, although I would imagine rooms at the front are quiet too as this is a peaceful crescent in Scarborough. Great facilities in the room, shower gel etc. tea/coffee making stuff too. Books to read in the room… very tastefully decorated & homely. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. We were room only but there are plenty of places to get breakfast nearby. Train station a 5 minute walk away. Lots...

"Top floor room which was adequate for our one night stay to see a band locally. The adjoining Pub was excellent. Our only gripe was there was no hot water at 9 am despite running taps for several minutes. "

"The Grand Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room (a triple / family room) was clean and convenient. The fans in the room (in the midst of a heatwave) and the water dispenser in reception were great touches. We were initially impressed with the proactive communication prior to our visit. However, the code we were given (twice) for the NCP wouldn't work on arrival and we were told by NCP it had expired in March 2026. On raising this with Barbara at reception, we received a shrug...

"The property was clean and the communication from the owners was good. However it does need some time spending on getting things sorted. All the beds need new mattresses we had to put all the duvets down to sleep on top of and even brought an air bed due to being so uncomfortable. Some other minor points, the kettle lid was broken and could only be opened by picking from the side (not safe when hot). The curtain rail in the main bedroom was hanging out of the room. We ended up leaving a day...

"Friendly welcoming staff, varied menu and excellent food and atmosphere in the bar area. Good choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and small but adequate en-suite. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others."
