Didnt really understand beach relation to hotel. Had to walk two blocks to only restaurant, as only other was a bar. Crazy part of town with tourist shops. Very authetic, but next door to unkempt messy beach boat places. A few blocks from the resort beaches. Real, as opposed to touristy. Welcoming door fellow spoke English. Inside staff didnt speak English. Room was really a multi room older apartment. Were just staying a night. Unique place and area.

My experience at this hotel started when I arrived around 3:30 p.m. Although no other guests were waiting to check in before me, the process took about 50 minutes. The delay was due to my room key (room number 5) being lost. The receptionist was on his first day, and although he was confused and inexperienced, he genuinely tried his best to help. After about 50 minutes, I finally received my key and was able to enter my room, very tired and jetlagged, and I really needed to rest. However, I noticed that rooms 5 and 6 are right next to the bar, so you hear loud music and lots of noise when trying to sleep. The room was new and nicely designed, but it had one major problem: noise. There was loud music, and even after 10 p.m., people would gather outside and talk loudly. If you're sensitive to noise, I wouldn't recommend staying in these rooms. Another issue involved the bathroom products. On the first day, when I tried to wash my hands, I noticed the hand soap smelled strongly of alcohol and didn’t lather. I assumed it was a different type of soap that works like that. But the shampoo for showering was good, however, on the second day, when I wanted to shower, I noticed the same problem: the shampoo also smelled like alcohol and didn’t produce any lather. I stopped using it and went to the reception with my wet and unwashed body and hair. Luckily, the staff member who spoke English was there. I explained that the hand soap and shampoo seemed wrong. The kitchenette room has absolutely nothing in it The kitchen is completely empty. When I approached their front desk they said people usually bring their own things not a glass not a coffee maker, nothing. No stsrter items, when i say nothing i mean nothing. The apartment was not clean, it had water all over the floor. No blankets. This is a dive hotel, do not stay here.

The location of this hotel to the beach is excellent. The hotel itself is let down badly by certain staff members and the manager. On arrival to the apartment we booked we found there to be no plates or cutlery what so ever in the kitchen, when I went to reception to ask for some the boy on reception told me they were not included I asked if they could provide some and even offered to pay or leave a deposit and he still said no. I asked him to contact the manager which he did on the phone and they proceeded to laugh and ridicule me not realising that I speak Spanish and understood everything they were saying! I asked to speak to the manager and he gave me the phone and he told me I should have brought cutlery plates and utensils with me from the UK!! We ended up having to go buy them. There were no towels in the apartment and when we asked for some there were full of stains and grubby so we went out and bought towels as well as we didn’t want to use there grubby ones. One of the bedroom windows was broken and didn’t shut there was a one once gap. There were 2 plug sockets hanging off the wall. The whole property was very run down and needs a lot of work to bring it up to even safety standards and in my opinion would benefit from new management who at least have good customer care. I was surprised to find out the hotel checkin chain is a Spanish company and I will be making them aware of the bad management of this particular hotel.

A good basic hotel that serves its purpose. It’s clean and the staff is amazing. Also love you have access to the beach directly and lounge chairs too. They didn’t have an iron, but aside from that no complaints.

Realmente me deje llevar por las fotos que tienen en su pagina mostrando todo bello, hermoso y expectacular como por fuera y adentro del hotel. NO ES REAL...Llegue pagar $400 dolares por 3 dias y me lleve una decepción total primera y ultima vez, no lo recomiendo, la estructura necesita mejoras y más presentación visual en los interiores, alrededor en la calle super abandonado y mal olor a aguas negras. su servicio no es agradable es pobre, La administración y el dueño deberian darle mas atencion para que los huéspedes esten a gusto.La pintura por fuera esta fea, por dentro no tiene algo presentable que adorne el hotel. Al llegar al hotel realice el chekin me dieron una habitacion que parecia un cuarto de un Motel mega sencillo todo blanco, la cama tenia unas sabanas llena de arena y hasta pelos humanos, que para mi no habian cambiado las sabanas, el baño las cerraduras de la ducha mohosas y a penas salia agua, la misma noche durmiendo la cama se cayo al suelo "Desastre", la Tv no funcionaba " En todo el hotel no tiene servicio de televisión ni locales", no tiene un teléfono en la habitación, no tienen articulos como Jabón para el cabello, no tenia una caja de seguridad, cuando uno dialoga con los empleados y no se atreven hablar con uno, se ven intimidados, y no le resuelven. El servicio del desayuno solo tenia "omellete, sándwich, cafe de maquina y jugo de maquina" Si pedias agua te la cobraban. De mi parte no me gusto nada. Hay no tiene un buzon de sugerencias.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Checkin. However, there are few things to be mindful for those that are visiting this hotel as an English speaking traveler. First of all, the property is not huge and as result there is limited beach front space available. However, the staff works diligently to maintain the property and there's always someone friendly at the front desk to help with any request you may have. It's not a 5 star resort, but its a cute little hotel where you can setup and have the option to check out the beach or local shops. Having breakfast available as part of the stay is also handy. Second, IF you only speak English, it's a little tough to communicate as most of the staff are not very fluent (including the bar). In that case, ask for Danna at the front desk who speaks English very well and was extremely helpful! She was kind enough to help us with various translation needs. Lastly, the hotel is located at the end of the street and its sometimes hard to find. There's another Hotel Checkin nearby and that leads to some confusion about the location. This could be challenging if you're trying to locate the hotel or if using Uber. Overall, my family really enjoyed the stay and consider this hotel as a small gem at the Cortecito beach. I will definitely go back in future.

We moved out after one night! The room they gave us was so incredibly horrible that we couldn’t sleep. There was a window to the corridor which had no covering and a light was shining into the room all night. We booked a room based on the pictures in the ad, but we think we got a staff quarters room, for over $200 a night! To their credit, Expedia sorted it for us and we moved out after one night. Expedia was fantastic!

The room wasn’t that cleaned well especially in the shower area. The beach was wonderful, so we could relax on the beach.

Steps away from the beach. No view outside of the room (also, the windows were bolted), sheets dirty, mold in the bathroom, staff doesn't speak English.
