The room had a strong mildew smell as did all of our clothing. The floor was filthy when we arrived! They cleaned/fixed the air conditioner when we complained but the humidity and smell continued for the week. Definitely run down for the price we paid! There was much more Spanish speaking than English and we actually felt out of place at times. Finally, they charged only the two of us out of our group of twelve, $40 US to stay and have lunch for the two hours after checkout waiting transport to the airport.

Very great stay here. We travelled with our 2 daughters and 8 other family members. It was a seamless experience. The staff are very polite and friendly. The food was great, and nobody got sick the entire trip. The grounds are very well kept. The beaches were super nice too. I was not expecting that for being on the pacific side. And we were in the ocean every day. They had lots of activities, events going on, and “parties” by the main pool. Lots of stuff for the kids to do as well. The resort is a short drive from the airport too. Overall a great trip and we will definitely be going back here.

Very clean resort beautiful beach for boggy bording. Servers are very helpful and pleasant hard working. Most go beyond, concierge Octavo made our stay!!! Expedia miss rep the room. Any who was given a better room and food was very good especially the Italian and outdoor design ur own fire wood pizza restaurant.

This is our 4th or 5th time at this property. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. The porters at the front of the property take good care of your bags and are super knowledgeable. The front desk staff work hard to accommodate room requests. The food at the restaurants is overall good quality. Amalfi will always be our favourite for quality and food selection. The asian restaurant was very tasty and the staff very accommodating. The (for purchase) steak at La Pergola was delicious and well prepared. The octopus was also a very interesting dish that you wouldn't normally expect. Very tasty. We also enjoyed breakfast as well as the changing dinner menu at the buffet. We did miss the homemade guacamole that was more prevalent the last few times we were there. The morning outdoor coffee bar featured a choice of coffee/tea or mimosas or a lovely bloody mary - with glasses that were pre-rimmed with Taijin. Yum. Much appreciated. The outdoor Mexican dinner surpassed expectations. The menu is varied and very good. The following entertainment with the 11 piece mariachi band and regional dance show was great. Lots of beautiful, clean pools to choose from. Thank you, Marival!

rooms were clean, food was 3rd rate. They obviously bought cheapest food available. Birds landing and pooping on buffet food/utensils , is unacceptable , there is going to be a major health issue soon. Feel sorry for the hundreds of people staying near noisey pool. They even had a private event that continued past 11pm (really loud , really bad band).

We enjoyed our stay. We were in a 1 bedroom suite with 2 kids. Pros. Amazing service, friendly staff. Love the layout of the resort, nothing is too far of a walk, beautiful beach and waves.suprisingly lunch buffet was amazing, lots of prawns. Tried it out on our last 2 days and wish we went before. Beds are super comfortable. Enjoyed taking the bikes for rides. Cons: trying to get a reso for a resteraunt. We tried 2 times and couldnt get one so unfortunately didnt get to try any of the amazing places . Dinner buffet was ok, some nights better then others. Would have been nice to have ice cream at dessert area like all the other resorts we have been too. Although the desserts looks beautiful, they all taste the same and have the same texture. Nights are quiet which is nice but we had a 2 bedroom suite above us and heard banging and running around all hours of the night so sleep wasnt great. Drinks were very inconsistant . Sometimes they are made them great and other times it tastes like pure alcohol. Kids drinks are so overly sweet my kids couldnt finish them. They have a hard time understanding little sugar . 1 other con ill mention is the entire week we were there they wouldnt let us use boogie boards as waves were too big. Isnt that the point of boogie boarding? The ocean was full of people doing it. I would still return to this resort as it was very good for kids and very clean. And nice warm pool water :) Pris:

We recently returned from Marival Emotions Resort in Puerto Vallarta. After a long travel day, we arrived to find our rooms—booked together—were separated across the resort. My daughter has special needs, and I had emailed months in advance requesting we be placed close together. We were told it was based on availability. After about 30 minutes of advocating, we were moved to the same building and floor, which we appreciated, but our room faced a parking lot instead of the view we booked. Check-in was also frustrating as we were approached with what felt like a timeshare/VIP sales pitch. After declining, the staff member’s attitude changed and we received little information about the resort. The room was clean but had minor issues like a burnt-out bathroom light and uncomfortable patio chairs. The bed was average. Service in the buffet and restaurants was inconsistent—we often had to get our own coffee and cutlery. The food was okay but not memorable. Booking à la carte restaurants required lining up at 7 AM on select days, only to find them fully booked or available very late, despite never appearing full. Positives included clean pools, a nice beach, and great entertainment—especially the Greatest Showman show. Overall, we wouldn’t return or recommend it as an all-inclusive.

The one bedroom suite provided ample space for a family of 4. The buffet provided an excellent selection of choices with options changing each day. The pools were clean and we never struggled to find a set of pool chairs together. My only qualms are: it is basically impossible to book the speciality restaurants. We arrived at 6:50 (booking opens at 7:30), were 8th in line and the only option for our group of 6 was 9:20pm. Lastly, it would be a bonus if you could order from a limited food menu poolside but not such a big deal. La Bamba was great each day for lunch.

Overall, this was a good stay and a very family-friendly resort with lots of activities for kids. The property is about 25 minutes from PVR airport, clean, and in good condition with friendly staff. There were plenty of chairs at the pool and beach, and the rule about removing items before 8 am helped prevent early chair-saving. Check-in was smooth but you are directed to a membership/time-share pitch after getting your keys, which was annoying when we just wanted to get to our room. The ATM was out of service our entire stay, which made tipping difficult. There are several pools, including a kids’ pool and an adults-only pool (no swim-up bar). The two swim-up bars were busy and drinks were on the weaker side. Poolside service was minimal unless you tipped. Food was mixed (about 3/5). The buffet (Casa Bella) was inconsistent in service and replenishment, though the omelet station was great. À la carte reservations were the biggest frustration—you must line up around 7 am and may wait hours, often ending up with very late dining times. Amalfi had excellent service and good food; Silk was good but had extra charges on some items. La Pergola was decent but had long waits. Our room was clean with good water pressure, but the shower temperature fluctuated, toiletries weren’t always refilled, and towel service was inconsistent. Water refill stations were often out of order. Entertainment and activities were plentiful and well suited for families. Final thoughts: Great for families.
