"Recently stayed at the Hilton in La Romana and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite a few minor inconveniences. The hotel has many positive qualities, though there is some room for improvement."

"The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The apartment had two rooms and was clean. The water came with a weird smell, but for a day was perfect. The location is great right on the beginning of bayahibe."

"The area looked beautiful in photos but it really was not feeling safe. We had an overnight before cruise and mainly just stayed in the room. The beach was lovely but we didn’t feel comfortable eating anywhere near this small hotel no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs to higher floors. No where close to get a coffee in the morning."

"It’s a budget hotel with no amenities. However what is lacking in luxury is far outweighed by the awesome staff there. It’s very safe and right in town. "

"Terrible staff at the restaurants. Waiters don't care about you at all . Don't bring drinks and if they do theyll bring one and never come back, we walked out our first restaurant for dinner since we were seating for 10-15 mins and no body took our order . Our room smelled like throw up when we first got there told the cleaning lady that was in the hallway to change our towels because that's where the smell was coming from , the lady never came back with towel replacements . "No one on staff spoke English. The hotel is very dated and unkempt. There were several power outages in the 16 hours we were there."

"This is the 4th time we stay we loved it the first few times but it seems now they are renovating some things . Some amenities like some pools and areas will be closed least in our time there . Food prices increased. Service is still pretty good . Luxury 3 villa lacked of comforters not a big deals but they only provided some throw blankets that were still too small for the beds . "Playa Catalina Hotel really surprised me in the best way. It gives you that Punta Cana vibe but in a more local, peaceful area. The beach is just a 5‑minute walk, and having a pool available 24/7 was perfect. The rooms look like little villas — super cute and cozy. What made the stay unforgettable was the staff. I traveled with my elderly dad, and they treated him with so much care. They helped him with his bags, supported him on the stairs, and always checked in on us. Even the security team...

Check in process was easy. 24 hours before my expected arrival I sent the host a message through the expedia app and she responded with my room number and lock code to enter the room. I found the code lock to be extremely handy so I didn't have to worry about losing a key or key card while at the beach. This property is an apartment style building right in the neighborhood.
