"The view was amazing, the walk to town was all downhill so you have lots of climbing back and forth. There was no restaurant on site, which would have been nice. The free breakfast was good enough for what our needs were."

However a major road was closed nearbtge hotel and we were not warned about his in any way and when we encountered it we were directed to a different route by the police which was the scariest route I have taken in my life of 45 mins of pure hell and my husband is a very confident driver. "The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too! Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun! "
