"Great hotel, great location and very clean with large rooms. Restaurant was excellent and we ate there almost every night after long day tours. Staff very friendly and we would definitely stay there again. "

"The room was not that clean, bald patch on the carpet, extractor fan in bathroom not sufficient as mirror steamed up after a shower. Also we were given a disabled access room instead of a standard double and not advised. Winter duvet was too warm.Woken by loud music. Disappointing stay."

"The staff at the hotel are great, friendly, welcoming and informative about local matters. The room was OK but very dated and in need of decoration and a few minor repairs. Some additional cleaning and dusting of less obvious surfaces, such as exposed pipes in bathroom, skirting boards, radiators etc is needed to give the feel of attention to detail. Everything was functional but generally tired. Centre of Edinburgh is a 20min bus journey that runs till late and Leith is 15/20 min walk."
