"The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. They sincerely seemed to care not because they were looking for a tip but because they were nice people. Not too big, not too small, just right. Quiet. Convenient restaurant, nice pool near a small but nice public beach. "

"All the staff were great! Only staff issue was with pool bartender, Leonardo, who needs some customer service training. Rooms were clean, restaurant was fabulous, very peaceful by the pool. Flowers and plants are gorgeous (great gardeners). There was an issue with the bill checking out (charged twice), which they rectified. Unfortunately, they have put a second charge through without any explanation or communication. This is very disappointing."

"Nice design of space and walk ability to downtown. The property is VERY noisy, expect to hear all the traffic, sirens, dogs barking, music, etc. the rooms are not at all insulated for sound. Most of the staff was very friendly. The people at the front desk were professional but not very friendly overall. At checkout they asked if we had taken anything from the minibar, we said no (as we had gone to La comer to purchase our own items). They then had to radio to check it, said we had drunk...

"This is a lovely property on the historic square in San Jose. This small hotel is beautifully landscaped and well maintained, with a small dip pool in the middle. The rooms are very clean and modern. The bar overlooks the patio, and the wait staff are attentive."

"Second time at Secrets. Notable change from last time. The staff for the most part are very good, but, this time they tried to upsell everything…it started immediately after check in. The guy was aggressive and outright rude when I told him I wasn’t interested in his “deal”. After that it was upselling meals and extras. Don’t fall for it the all inclusive meals are good"

"This property was perfect condition with prior ownership. Now that Hilton owns it you can tell that it's deteriorating and the quality overall has gone down including service. "

"The elevator doesn’t work and my husband was trapped in it as soon as we arrived. The gym was unusable as it was under water. There is nothing close by in terms of groceries, the Walmart is closest but would be a 25 minute walk and do not recommend it. The appliances worked but all the cupboards smelled strong like vinegar. "Food was terrible, no variety either, we were hungry all week. Staff were friendly but not available like most all inclusive I’ve been to. Paid $600 for the room upgrade, waste of money. Room was never stocked on drinks. Our balcony was rusted & we had to constantly watch our 2 year old so she didn’t touch it! Toilet was broke & our sink drain wouldn’t drain properly.
