"We enjoyed our stay! The room was as advertised, and we especially loved having an on-site laundry facility available for guests to use. It was a very convenient feature. The only small improvements I would suggest are brighter lighting in the bathroom, an additional luggage rack or bench, and a few more hangers in the closet. Overall, we had a great stay!"
"Great location near a metro stop! Nice and clean rooms. Note that the shower is in an open concept bathroom so there are no shower walls. This was a big challenge for us as water got everywhere in the bathroom which we really weren't used to and didn't enjoy. Lighting in the room could also be improved as it was very dark by the bunk areas in the room for 4 that we booked."
Château Léognan, Domaine viticole - proche Bordeaux
10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay at Chateau Leognan! Emilie at reception was particularly helpful and warming throughout our stay. The rooms and common spaces are impeccably designed and decorated. The restaurant on property was the best meal we had in France all week! The complimentary wine tasting was a nice surprise as an amenity and informative about the chateau’s operations - only wish we knew in advance so we could coordinate timing as it’s only open in the evening and we got there barely too late our first night. There’s also complimentary spa access which we didn’t know about ahead of time, so no matter what time of year you’re visiting, remember to pack a bathing suit to enjoy all the spa has to offer! We were traveling with my parents as couples and noted how kid-friendly the chateau was to potentially return with my small children/their grandchildren as it’s not only romantic but also good for families and larger groups if booked in advance with adjacent rooms in the main chateau (that was my fault as we tagged along last minute to my parents’ reservation). Last thing to note, the property is under construction to add more rooms, a new spa and wine bar, hence my less than excellent rating on the grounds. It was a little difficult to walk off-path from one location to the next (chateau-restaurant-reception) but they have buggies to accommodate that. I look forward to seeing how the renovation updates turn out and hope to bring our little ones back to the chateau with us soon!"
"Stay was fine -- room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is a bit of a hike from the train station and not much around for dining -- you have to taxi in to around the train station for a decent meal. Staff were helpful."
Le M & Spa Bordeaux Aéroport by Hôtels & Préférence
10/10 Excellent
"Very convenient for Airport as Tram 2 stops, and hotel stop just 100 meters walk. Easy check-in, Pool was handy as 34C when we stayed. Lifts good, Aircon worked (just)but controls a bit weird. Kitchenet was handy with pod coffee machine, fridge, microwave and hob, plus all the crockery you will need. A nice big room and bed, with blackout curtains. All in all, a very pleasant 5 nights, especially after hot days walking in the city and amazing waterfront. Though you need your wits, with some narrow pavements and poorly marked bike lanes. My wife lost a pair of prescription designer sunglasses, we thought in the city after a boozy (Margeaux for 40 Euro!) dinner in one of the wonderful alfresco squares (doom and gloom) The room cleaner found them, they sent email and posted them to us at cost postage fee DHL. So pleased as £££! to replace.
Tram,(line A) buy a week one, bargain at 29 euro unlimited hop on off trips. We usually hire a car(saved £300 and hassle), but thought as Bordeaux is a cars not wanted city, let's give it a go. We really enjoyed it, though 40 mins into city and many stops, it was never that busy and no trouble and a nice change from driving, traveling with the locals and seeing the city go by.. Tram 2 Stops from hotel to a giant Carrefour and shopping Centre, a must visit, its vast, and amazing wine selection."
