We were in the “deluxe” room, # 249, Feb 13-16, 2026, which is in the 2nd building across from the main building lobby. When entering the building, the odor was horrendous. The AC was not on in the hallways leading to the rooms which amplified the stench. The best way to describe it is like a giant pile of old dirty sweaty gym socks. On entering our room the stench was the same but stronger. I went to the front desk and main lobby and they sent someone to spray freshener on the walls and curtains. There were no available rooms to switch to. The spray helped somewhat but wore off by the next day. We kept all of our clothes in our closed suitcases to make sure the stench didn’t permeate our clothing.
The cleaning standards are very low. I have pics of the nasty toilet that would barely flush and the dirty baseboards. They clearly just don’t care or have any standards. I even saw a small bug (alive) on the nightstand.
This hotel badly needs a complete refresh w new carpet and tile, and painting throughout, at minimum.
I have stayed at other LaQuintas that were very nice for a basic hotel but I will never stay at this location again. The actual location is decent as you can walk to Universal, but not good enough to compensate for the poor condition of this sad, dirty hotel. I would have changed hotels if I could but everything was booked for Presidents Day weekend. I had no idea this was such a popular travel time for the parks.
