"Hotel was good, but there is no air conditioning. This meant that we slept with the windows open, and it was very noisy outside - a combination of neighbours in the evening, workers in the buildings below our windows and in the morning, seagulls at dawn. Found the room to be very hot with four of us in it and only two small fans"

"The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight.
It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. My room had comfortable beds and a newly fitted bathroom but the windows could only be opened a small way as they were blocked by a fire escape staircase immediately outside. The air conditioning unit had seen better days but there was also a fan.

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean & well maintained. Good location for Southsea in the university area. A couple of bars nearby which might be a problem for some people but I can’t say it ever bothered us. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area."

"A lovely little hotel a couple of minutes walk away from the beach and 10 minutes walk from the theatre and restaurants. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable … quite a small bathroom but fine for a night’s stay. It was quite warm in the room and we couldn’t open one of the windows as the latch was broken. But the main issue is the bed, my wife and I were aware that the slats underneath the mattress were collapsing, then suddenly they collapsed.
