"This quaint hotel was clean and is located in a great location. By the water, with a short walk to the center of town. (Do visit the friendly cafe located next door for lunch or dinner.) They have a continental breakfast, and a staff member offers to make eggs to go along with your meal. The shower was a bit quirky. Be careful so you don’t get burned. And there is no shelf for items. The body wash (as marked on the bottle) and what I hope was shampoo (no markings on the bottle) were on the dresser, so you have to bring the glass bottles into the shower and put them on the floor of the shower. What really made my stay five stars was Dani. She speaks excellent English, and is kind and helpful. Thank you Dani for making my stay so nice! "

"Very courteous staff. Excellent food with excellent service in restaurant. Room spotless and clean and room service excellent. Front office staff also excellently courteous and helpful. Loved the native artifacts and the natural wood interiors. This is much more peaceful and beautiful than “modern” concrete, steel and plastics. Spa also excellent with superb pool and very clean hot tub. We plan to return soon!"

"Hostel El Refugio had all the comforts of home including a warm hearty breakfast every morning, comfortable beds with fresh linens in a private room, and private bathrooms. My visit was during fall when temps were colder. The hostel was always warm after a day outdoors. The owner Luis was very kind and accommodating, making sure you have everything for a perfect visit. "We feel so lucky to have stayed at the Loft before and after we did the W trek. Maca is incredibly accommodating and easy to reach. We got to store or our luggage multiple times and Maca took great care of us for giving us many options and recommendations to make our trip easier. The room is spotless clean, bed and linen are very comfortable, and the view is simply jaw dropping. We loved watching the sunsets and hope to come back one day. "
