"Lovely welcome on arrival. Rooms were dark inside which was fine for us but could imagine it might be a problem for some. Vanity mirror with lights attached didnt work, and when reported (more to report that we didnt break it, rather than get it fixed) reception was uninterested. "Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"The property is very close to the on-off bus which we really enjoyed. It is close to the York Museum which is absolutely a must see. We walked a lot in York and found our location to be acceptable. If you are not a big “walker”, then you might want to stay closer to the center. The hotel was great. The breakfast was very good. The valet attendants were friendly.
