"I booked this stay for both of my daughters’ birthdays who are 4 days apart. When I arrived, I did the usual - ID, CC for incidentals, got the room keys. It was only the. I was notified the pool and hot tub were under construction and not in working order. I commend the front desk person as he graciously cancelled my rooms w/o any fees. I did explain I specifically booked the hotel for the pool plus hot tub which many other hotels did not offer both amenities. My complaint here is there was...

"We were looking forward to a 3-night stay at this boutique hotel, with its restaurant and pool. However, upon arrival we learned there was no restaurant, and then were told the pool was closed which was a key amenity in my booking. Disappointed, we headed to our room hoping to make the best of it. The room had a funky smell despite being non-smoking, so I tried airing it out. "What’s not to love about the Celeste? Everything you could ask for in a cozy hotel. Lovely accomodating staff, warm breakfast, the room was clean both upon arrival and when my partner and I were out and about. Parking was right next door at the World Trade Center parking ramp, and wasn’t expensive (overnight park there was $24; compared to Chicago, that’s a steal). "I was not pleased with the additional cost ($50.00) from this hotel above the price of Expedia. there is a small lot behind the hotel to park while checking in, no signage of how to get there so you have to park in a garage $10.00 then the hotel charged additional $29.00 to park overnight. later i found that the hospital one block away only charges $5.00 for the blue parking ramp. with the additional charges added, this was not a good deal."

"The woman that was there to check me in was rude and unpleasant. However the rest of the staff, including the valet drivers, were nice. The room was okay (although for a river view room, the river was not visible). I wish the room had bottled water and/or snacks (in addition to having them available in the sundry). I like the private parking access especially if you are there for car events and need a safe parking space!
