The hotel itself could use a refresh in that it’s a little tired, but the staff were great and the room was clean and comfortable. There was an issue with our first room (a bad smell) and they changed and upgraded the room without question. They were also happy to store our bicycles while we were there.

The guys at the front desk were quite friendly and helpful - even though we speak only English. The location is amazing as it is right in the waterfront. We would have liked more air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious, beautiful and had so many options.

We had a small problem at check in with the room but the gentleman on reception was really great and we changed room. His professional manner and advice regarding the room was very good. We had a good stay and would happily stay again. Loved having a balcony to look out over the lake. Stunning.

This was a good hotel in a built up area, right across the road from the lake. We booked a room on the side of the hotel with a partial view of the lake and after initially giving us the wrong room, they corrected it immediately. Our room was comfortable and quiet (with the windows closed) and had a small balcony where we sat and enjoyed a view of part of the lake. The bathroom was a standard hotel bathroom. The buffet breakfast was pretty good, not awesome, but there was a lot of choice and the coffee was excellent. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance of Lugano center and just 10 minutes from the funicular that goes to the top of San Salvatore (well worth it!), so thumbs up on location. In my view it was expensive for what it was. Our other hotels in Switzerland were all less expensive. But perhaps being on the lake in Lugano in August is just at a premium.
