Long Compton hotels from RM321

"This is a great hotel in the middle of Stratford. Easy to drive to . The car park was full so we waited and eventually parked. Check in again was easy. Our room was great well equipped with all the usual toiletries etc The bed was very comfy and had a good nights sleep. We went into the bar at night and they served some great local beers and as residents' we received 10% off. Breakfast again was good as it is served at the table. Well presented and well cooked. We would stay there again. Great location."

"Hotel was clean staff friendly. Sorry but after that it goes down hill. Booked the hotel partly for the pool and facilities after a long days shopping. Pool changing rooms less than half the lockers work, pool cold. We planned to eat in the bar but on arrival this was basically closed for refurbishment and we were told we could eat there but it was soul less and full with a temporary bar. We were offered a choice of about 4 lagers, or soft drinks, no spirits or wine. We chose instead to try the restaurant. We ordered drinks but were told that no lemon was available for the g&t as the bar was closed for refurbishment. We ordered a main course which took over an hour to come when there was only about 4 other tables being used by other diners. When the food came my beef stew could be described as average at best and my wife received veg taglatelli when she ordered prawn linguine? The waiter offer to change it but we refused not wanting to wait another hour. Breakfast was almost as bad as some of the hot breakfast food was cold. We could at least have been pre warned about the bar refurbishment then we could at least have made other arrangements. Sorry but overall not 4* by any stretch."

"Rooms are just too small unless you are literally just walking in and sleeping. I needed a desk to do some work and it was really quite a struggle to do anything."

"The rooms are very clean however the beds are not as comfortable as you would expect for this type of establishment. The staff was very friendly however the restaurant was very understaffed and the food was mediocre for the price. Nice place to stay but would not use the restaurants."

"Have stayed here before a couple of times when visiting family. This visit was nothing like as good as previous times. Positive - breakfast was good, good quality shower. Negatives - £5.50 to park(up from £5 3 months ago), bed uncomfortable, bathroom sink wouldn't hold water. My wife is lactose and soya intolerant. She brings her own milk which the hotel has always stored in their fridge. Point blank refusal this time - health and safety rules had changed- manager and duty manager were both there when we were told and said nothing so we assume they agreed. If you can't compromise for a food intolerance then have more dairy free alternatives at breakfast and not just soya"

"The staff were kind and helpful. There were extra charges for the car park although this was taken off when we complained. The whirlpool was not working. It did not feel good value for money."

"I think its very over priced for what it is. Feels like the rooms need an update. There was no dressing table i had to sit on the floor to use the wardrobe mirror. Pillows too soft. Food in the james martin grill was poor very disappointing. Felt a bit let down as it was a treat for my husbands birthday and our anniversary. "
