Fab location for events at the 02 arena. There's a direct bus to and from the hotel, that runs throughout the night too. There's plenty of shops and amenities nearby and the underground station is only a 5 minute walk away. The staff were great, really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We'll be staying there again.

The property is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the train station. The rooms were clean when we checked in but were not properly cleaned during our stay. I had to use gloves to clean the bathroom myself. The breakfast area was not always clean to include some of the cups. The garbage can in the dining area was often overflowing, even in the early morning hours. The majority of the staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms were very hot, especially the ones on the backside of the building. I stayed in a room on the frontside that was tolerable due to trees and some breeze. However, a family member stayed in a room on the backside which felt like a sauna, to the point where he a had a nosebleed.

The hotel was a building site, the room was dirty and incredibly smelly, the carpet had a large stain of human fluids and it was not possible to open the window to change the air. When I asked staff if I could change the room, I was threatened and told that they would call the police!

Really disappointed

Stayed on the 2nd floor and the room smelt like rotten food! The shower and toilet smelt of urine, the bed sheets had dirt all of them, dirt on the cups and floor. Tried to ask to switch rooms but nothing was available The staff then decided to knock our door at 10am to ask when we will be leaving. I will be trying to get a refund

Good value and comfortable

Just a 10 min walk to the DLR and then 2 stops to LCY is why I booked here. Found the value to be reasonable, clean and comfortable. Perfect for an overnight flying visit

Not a spot for holiday goers

I booked the Travelodge last minute for one night as there wasn’t a lot of other still options available and needed somewhere with 24/7 reception as I had a late flight. This could be a good option if you have a car as there is a car park at the back of the hotel with plenty of parking spots or if you have a short stopover and manage to get a cheap rate. The staff that worked there were very friendly and welcoming and reception always had someone available. The area isn’t particularly nice and while it’s close to the train station, it will take you 30-40 mins to get to central London. The room was clean and the bed was comfy however, it had a mothball smell to it which wasn’t pleasant at all. The buffet style breakfast was really average. It’s supposed to be served from 7am to 10am and while I sat down at 9am, there wasn’t a lot of food left and it wasn’t fresh because it had been sitting in the food warmer. The croissants were also old and there wasn’t any fruit on offer. I didn’t end up eating much of it because it was really fatty and didn’t taste great at all. Overall, my stay was pretty average and I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re holidaying as there are a number of better options available in London that are in nicer, more central areas. With that said, Travelodge is reliable and known to be a stock standard hotel that’s clean with basic facilities, so it’s very much you pay for what you get.

Pleasant Travelodge, very well Located

Pleasant enough Travelodge, with the usual facilities and usually very good value. What I especially liked about this one is that it's in an old Co-op department store, with some nice features, including a WW1 plague for Co-op employees and a fine old staircase. Also, it's a newer one that offers a higher standard breakfast, which we took up too. Location is great, with overland rail to central London, DLR across the river to Stratford, and finally, two rather unique travel methods. Firstly, a free ferry across the Thames to London City Airport and an Edwardian underground tunnel across the Thames.

Wedding anniversary trip to Woolwich

Was a short trip to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and do some Christmas shopping for the Kids and family. Excellent location with shopping malls and good restaurants.

Very noisy with outside traffic

Family room. Very cold and lots of traffic noise. No tv remote. Secondary glazing broke. Bathroom tiny and taps only dribbled out water.

Disappointing

We were rudely woken up early in the morning by some children playing in the lobby. We had a long journey down and could of done with a bit more sleep. At breakfast they ran out if plates, bread and glasses even though the leaflet said all you can eat. So we barely had anything to eat for breakfast. Also, the juice was warm which was quite sickening. In both rooms we booked, the beds were covered with human body hair which put me off sleeping. When i got to the hotel, I assumed there would be free parking however I thought wrongly. Overall, I was looking forward to this trip as a Christmas treat for my children and now it has ruined my Christmas. You could say staying at this Travelodge was like meeting the grinch.

My experiance was very good at the Travelodge hotel as I and my friends arrived we was wellcome by very kind and professional receptionist called John who delivered 5* service.
