6/10
Our stay at the Best Western Buckingham Palace Rd had both positives and negatives. The location is excellent—close to Victoria Station, with easy access to London’s main sights and transport links. The staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and throughout our stay.
However, our room was at basement level, which was a major downside. It was dark, and the constant noise from coaches at Victoria Coach Station kept us awake all night. The windows couldn’t be fully opened due to external noise, and the air conditioning was ineffective, making the room uncomfortably hot.
We also struggled with the amenities—despite requesting an iron, three were provided, none of which worked. The hotel is somewhat outdated, with worn decor and limited soundproofing, which added to the discomfort. Breakfast was basic but adequate, though seating was limited during busy times.
Overall, for the price paid, the location is ideal, but the noise issues and outdated facilities mean there are better options in London if comfort and peace are priorities. If you choose to stay here, request a higher floor and bring earplugs. It’s a convenient base, but not the most restful or modern hotel in central London.
Would you like it even shorter or tailored differently?
