"I was looking for an affordable hotel near the Madison airport, and selected this hotel, although I rarely stay at Comfort Inns and thus did not have a good idea of their 'quality' level. Overall, I was pleased, although I thought that the lobby area was odd, a wide narrow space quite different from all other hotels in my experience....it felt like the 'front desk' was in a narrow hallway. The ambience on first glance seemed a bit "seedy". Some of the personnel I saw behind the desk during check-in and check-out seemed illegitimate, as if they were not actual employees but rather some random people who had stepped behind the desk when nobody was looking. I think this hotel should pay more attention to the whole front desk/lobby experience.
Otherwise, I had not issues with this hotel. It does seem to almost be two hotels 'joined at the hip'; a low 2-level structure one one side and a more modern looking 6-story building (I stayed in the 6 story part). There was adequate parking space, and the rest of the building seemed modern, well maintained and reasonably clean. My room was fine, other than that it looked like the wide-screen TV might be starting to fall off of its brackets (it definitely had a 'listing to port' look to it).
The hotel is on a frontage road parallel to the main east-west street in northeast Madison (151/Washington), and adjacent to the interchange with interstate highways I-39/90/94. Road access to the Dane County Regional Airport is about 1 mile away."
