"Cairns is beautiful and so is Cascade Garden. Do not expect it to be very grand or great, photos are a bit deceptive. What you get is a reasonably decent property to stay on. The Property overall is a bit dated and needs a lot of refurbishment. Linen are clean but we had stains on ours. Room could be kept a bit more clean. There was mould on walls and corners. "Room was basic but clean. Yha sydney is a lot nicer. I had a twin ensuite which had towels and body wash included. There are no lifts so I had to carry luggage up the stairs. There's not enough staff so it takes a while to check in and check out"

"The hotel is low-rise and close to the road. Our room faced the road and was over the loading area, making for lots of noise in the early morning (bins being emptied and trucks making deliveries). The room was fitted out as pictured and clean. A strip on the bottom of the door would stop the light coming in from the corridor (we used a towel to block the light). The selection of tv channels was eclectic."
