1. La Demeure de l'Ile

Craon

"From the street, this B&B type accommodation presents itself as an old hotel which appears to be under renovation, but the facade opens into a courtyard with a guest building with perhaps 3-4 rooms on the second floor and a lounge and breakfast area down stairs. Our room was large and comfortable with a fully remodeled bathroom. It was very quiet and very French in it's character. The owner helped us with reservations for a delightful restaurant called La Maison C about 10 minutes walk down...

"I arrived and the owner wasn’t expecting me even though I had booked earlier that day through Expedia. The room was fine, hard mattress but I like that. A bit outdated and hard worn sheets but I slept really well. I asked about dinner and the owner said yes 7:30. I was sat in reception alone (in the dark as the light kept going off) and served a bowl of pasta with chopped up smoked salmon and cheese, a dry crepe and a terrible packaged flan. It certainly wasn’t worth €22 I think I received a...

"Le château est magnifique. Le parc et la piscine sont très agréable. Par contre, les prestations ne sont pas a l attendu. Nous avions réservé un logement climatisé sur le site Hotel.com et c 'est uniquement pour cette raison que nous avons reserve ce logement. A notre arrivée on nous annonce que la maison a eu un dégât des eaux et nous sommes upgradé dans un chambre du château. Un grand merci. Par contre ni la chambre, ni la maison ne sont climatisés. Quand nous avons pris possession de la...

"We stayed in the Junior Suite for one night; three people and two dogs. €200 in early August. Beautiful house; very friendly welcome. The host speaks English very well. Parking space is unclear, but wasn’t a problem - unsure if we were blocking neighbours. There was no evening food available (Saturday evening) and not much available in the area. The gardens and the house interiors are beautiful. Our only two key points of feedback are 1) the door doesn’t have a lock and the bathroom...
