"I had a pretty short stay, arriving in the evening and departing early next morning. As such, I didn't get an opportunity to partake in many of the amenities. That said, the place was clean, well maintained, and I had a good rest. Would stay again."
"One of the highlights of our stay. The hotel is incredibly cool, with a beautifully redesigned interior that feels fresh and youthful. Our river-view suite was gorgeous and easily the biggest room we’ve stayed in during our time in Japan. For a couple of days, I felt as though I were living in a lifestyle magazine—or pretending to be a travel influencer.
Yamato Onsen offers everything I wanted from an onsen town, but with a more contemporary, relaxed feel than a traditional ryokan while retaining a strong sense of local onsen culture.
The welcoming staff included several English speakers, making settling in easy.
The journey from Hiroshima was straightforward, especially by car. I’d definitely return: this is a magical, calming getaway for a couple of nights. If you’re visiting Japan and want to experience an onsen town without staying in a traditional ryokan, it’s well worth considering."
"Wonderful! The staff were helpful, the rooms were large by Japanese standards, the location was great for nightlife, and the onsen was the best we’ve visited. We wanted to add an another night but it was booked. Would happily return!"
"A most Japanese experience from the room, which was clean and comfortable to the breakfast and dinners that are provided, which are very local. Lots of seafood that was very well prepared. You do have to be ready for a completely different experience for example, puffer fish, baby sardines, along with temper and Wagyu beef dishes. The food is prepared for you and you don’t get to choose what you get. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. it helps to have Google translate we explored the town on E bikes that the hotel has for rent at a very reasonable price. I think a two day day would be great."
