"The room was basic but very clean. Only downsie was that somebody had forgotten to empy the bin in the room before I got there and I had to ask for the heating to be put on as the 1st night was very cold, it did go on late in the evening on the 2nd night so all goo, but overall nice place, spot on staff and will stay again! "

"We have stayed here before and wanted to come back. We booked a classic King and got the opportunity to bid for an upgrade to the Executive suite and got it. When we arrived, there were no Executive suites ready and they put us in a Signature suite instead at no extra cost. The staff here are so friendly and go above and beyond and made our stay so enjoyable. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary."

"Excellent location on the Quayside. Parking adjacent to the entrance £18 for 24 hours. Clean and tidy, breakfast was ok too. Definitely return , nothing not like."

"A very enjoyable stay in a boutique hotel, where the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were all different, with each offering individual benefits. We were slightly concerned that the restaurant was not open on our first night, but we were able to get food from other areas, so not a problem overall."

"Parking is 8.50 a day but you don't find that out until you check in. The furniture in the restaurant is stained and shabby. The paint in our unsuited had peeled."

"I was given a big room with two double beds so more than enough room for me. The room was ok, but a little dated. Large flat screen tv, good bathroom / shower, really comfortable bed and pillows - a couple of negatives were no aircon or safe. Bar / restaurant was really good, plenty of seats / tables and sports on large tvs with. huge selection of fodder and drinks to choose from My food was quick to arrive and very tasty. "This is a lovely little hotel in a perfect spot to visit Newcastle. The staff were all lovely and were keen to make my stay as good as possible. My room was on the 2nd floor and there is no lift (which I knew but still overpacked!) so perhaps don't take one big suitcase like I did! The hotel is well maintained but is not "modern". "This a brilliant hotel and could not fault it. The deluxe rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was really good and the items were hot and the area was immaculate with staff clearing away all the time. The location was perfect, very central and I would have no hesitation in staying again at this wonderful hotel. It is definitely a 4 star standard so well done to Maldron hotels"
