"A really good hostel just outside the main city of Bergen but a short walk away to bus transport and also a small Bunnpris shop for food items, etc. Was perfect for my weekend in the area, especially with even being close to the Ulriken mountain tram/path to the summit - staff were helpful with check in/out, plus the shared female dorm room I stayed in was comfortable and with a good toilet/shower room and bunkbeds. "This was such a nice treat after our Norway adventure through small towns with small showers! The room was spacious and well-laid out. Even with the couch having to be opened for our son, it was still comfortable. Also plenty of surfaces to open luggage, tons of hooks for coats, and enough shelves for us to be able to be comfortable and not constantly opening and closing luggage in one spot. The bathroom was equally comfortable with a wonderful shower with enough space to wash your feet without having to do fancy contorsions - and again plenty of shelf space to lay out and open three toiletry bags easily. While we did not do the breakfast, I took a peek and it looked plentiful and wonderful - this is one thing that most Scandinavian hotels can claim - a wonderful, balanced, healthy and plentiful breakfast spread - and this hotel doesn't seem to fall short. The location is perfect - right in the middle of all of it - a quick walk from the ferry stop, and a quick walk from the metro stop, as well as close to all the tourist spots. Finally - it was wonderfully clean and well-maintained. All in all: highly recommend!"

"Check in was quick and easy. The room was more than adequate for a short two night stay. The room was clean. The included breakfast was fantastic offering Great selection and plenty of seating. It's easy to walk to the fish market, restaurants and touristy shops from the hotel. If you joining a cruise ship ita short flat walk from Thon Orion to the terminal."

"Our room was delightful and would have rated 5/5 if considered in isolation. However our 80 year old travelling companions who arrived around 7pm in the evening were told that even though they had booked and prepaid 6 months previously that the hotel was fully booked. They were shunted to an adjoining house and given an attic room accessed by an extremely steep staircase effectively a ladder. Compared to our room in the hotel itself, it was spartan. So that was disappointing and left a bad taste in our mouth. As such I have to mark down our score for the hotel to 3/5."

"Overall the property was clean, but not a great hotel if you have issues with stairs. They gave us a room that you could only get to by stairs (full disclosure, they did carry our bags to and from the room) but you had a flight a stairs just to get to the main lobby. Would not recommend the hotel if you are older. Restaurant where breakfast was at was beautiful, but some items on the buffet were ice cold."
