"Cashed in some one key points for night away . Took the scenic route from Gateshead and visited Richmond , Aysgarth Falls , Grassington and Thirsk on the way . Had a couple of beers in the beer garden , freshened up then a gorgeous meal in the orangery. So glad we had booked as they were turning people away ! The staff were excellent- friendly , courteous and attentive. Lovely relaxing night away , helped by the English heatwave ."

"Lovely quiet village not far from Thirsk and the A1(M). A friendly welcome and a clean comfortable room. We booked for dinner and the food was delicious and service equally friendly. A 10 minute walk after dinner to the abbey ruins down the road was a nice surprise. Great bed and tasty breakfast. All in all an enjoyable place to stop over on the way up to the Lake District. Only down side was that we couldn't connect to their internet."

"A bit of a hidden gem. Really nice facilities, with the outdoor pool a real plus. The weather being nice definitely helped. Would recommend and great value for money. You can really tell the people that work here care about the service they provide. This comes across well and lead to a great break for us"
