"While it is true the decor is dated and the rooms are older, we stayed for close proximity to the air show at the base and they were so accommodating in hospitable. It was quiet and no one bothered us. Everything worked well."

"The James river hotel formally the King James is almost historical in Newport News. The hotel has been through VERY ROUGH times of people it's time in business. Overall it has truly stood the TEST OF TIME. The age of the rooms would be a five on my scale. However other than that I will stay again as I have done for over 40 years. God bless "

"The staff was very helpful when our TV wasn't working and when we couldn't figure out our AC. They even helped with our toilet and cleaned and replaced our towels while doing so. And our light under the microwave needed to be replaced too. I thought you guys provided things like silverware, plates, cups etc... but I was wrong.
