"This was a great stay and a good base for the golden circle. We stayed in a 1-bedroom cottage. The rooms are definitely big enough for three, though I think with more it could definitely get squashy. The kitchen was fairly well-stocked, though in our case the stove light was not functioning. "This property is located in the suburbs of Reykjavik -- on the eastern edge of town. There is an important issue not made clear on the Expedia listing: there is no receptionist. Nobody is there at the site. Even if you book here on Expedia, the owner will email you a code that you use to enter the property and your room. I did not know this and got stranded at the door searching for the email for about 10 minutes. The apartment itself was quiet, spacious and bright -- I liked it. Downside is...

"Beautiful apartment. Feels modern. Indeed, you can hear music from the bookstore below, but it ends at 11 PM and we didn’t find it loud at all. Great location downtown. Highly recommended."

"Very comfortable place with lots of amenities, including a mini-kitchen in the room and a shared kitchen downstairs with free coffee and tea. There was a nice view of the harbor from my room. It is close to the airport and a reasonably priced shuttle service is provided in the morning. I had some questions about checking in and the office responded right away."

"Unique, stand-alone apartments/suites on a scenic site. Close to a beautiful but challenging hiking trail. A little cafe is within a few minutes walking distance, as is a hotel with a restaurant and bar. There are no beverages or snacks. Check-in is flawless if you read your email from 2 days before. (We were traveling and didn’t check.) No air conditioning, but open windows cooled the room. In the end, it might have been nice to stay another night or two."
