"Clean and amazing views. They have drinks and snacks there for you which is great. Check in was fine but had to call a few times to get through to verify my ID (there’s no staff on site, so virtual check in with codes to access the room). Great location and would definitely recommend. You are paying a premium in April for the views but as a special treat it’s so worth it. We sat in the private onsen and sauna for hours! "

It’s a brand new hotel with many amenities, good size room, exceptionally attentive staff plus the owner is incredibly nice and offers all kinds of tours. "Hotel de Yama was great. This place has a real mountain lodge feel to it. It is remote and very quiet but within a mile of fun activities. It was the perfect lay-over between the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and the hugeness of Tokyo. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were both great. The grounds were amazing, especially the garden. The staff was super helpful. And the onsen was next level - so relaxing. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat"

"We loved our stay! The room was quiet and comfortable. We loved the public baths and breakfast (we didn't have dinner with our room). The staff was very welcoming. There's also a shuttle from the hotel down to the bus stop in Motohakone or it's an easy 15 min walk. "
